"Save memory!" All-Ukrainian Campaign successfully continues
At the defense line of Synelnykove Town (Dnipropetrovsk Region) there was conducted voluntary Saturday work by the efforts of Evgeniy Grigoriyevich, Trushenko, a distinguished member of Union People's Memory NGO, and veterans-border guards of the town.
As far back as in 1983, being a simple teacher, Evgeniy Grigoriyevich began his work on the study of the area. Once there, in 1941 and fought heroically against the enemy, and kept the defense the soldiers of 95-th border detachment. During the expedition, the searcher together with "Red pathfinders" school squad managed to find and exhume the remains of 48 fallen soldiers-border guards. Luckily, the names of 5 of them were managed to return from obscurity.
At the battle site of the border guards there was erected a memorial sign. And last year, in May, 2016, there were installed nine memorial plaques.
Since then the searchers together with the veterans of the Border Service of Synelnykove town have taken care of the heroes' graves.
This time, when putting things in order, the activists have labored a lot – mowed the grass, cut off the dead trees that stand near memorial signs of the deceased and planted flowers.
