Memory Day of victims of war and political repression
November 19th, in Germany it's celebrated an People's Day of Mourning (Volkstrauertag). On this day, the Germans commemorate the victims of war and state violence. In Bundestag, the German President makes a speech in the presence of government members and foreign diplomats. And across the country they hold a Church service and ceremony of laying flowers to the memorials.
The events dedicated to the Day of Mourning were held this year in Ukraine as well.
On Sunday, at the Assembly of German cemetery near the village of Vita-Poshtova (Kyiv Region) took place the reburial of the remains of three German soldiers deceased during the Second World War on the territory of Kyiv Region.
The memorial ceremony was attended by the representatives of the People's Union of Germany, Sergey Vladimirovich Shahov, Deputy of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, Yaroslav Zhylkin, a Chairman of Union People's Memory All-Ukrainian Public Organization, military attaches of different countries and members of the public.
