In Kharkiv Region 15 Soviet soldiers were reburied
Last week, the participants of Voennye Memorialy Vostok SPE (Specialised Private Enterprise) of Kharkiv City (Union People's Memory NGO) held the ceremony of reburial of the Soviet soldiers found last year.
Then, in 2016, the searchers were addressed by the owner of the agricultural fields of Mala Komyshuvakha village (Izyum district, Kharkiv Region) with a request to conduct a reconnaissance. He said that in the given area there had repeatedly been observed unauthorized excavations in the results of which his workers began to find bone remains.
In the result of search works there were discovered two burial sites of the Soviet soldiers. The first one contained the remains of 8 victims. They were scattered chaotically that pointed to the fact of earlier intervention of looters. It goes without saying that near the soldiers practically no things were found. In the second burial site there were 7 soldiers. Together with them there were discovered Soviet helmet, combat boots, German flask, belts, cartridge pouch for the Mosin rifle, buttons from Soviet uniform.... And, unfortunately, nothing that would help establish the identity of the soldiers.
However, 15 found soldiers have finally been reburied. Let unknown, but they found peace.
Besides the searchers of Vostok on the mass grave of Mala Komyshuvakha village there gathered veterans, representatives of the district administration and the village council and the villagers. In honor guard there stood school children.
The memorial service was held by a village priest. He read the burial service over the deceased soldiers of the Red Army.
With mournful silence, prayers and flowers the soldiers were accompanied on the last journey.
